X-mas eve Causey
#1
Ice at causey is 3 - 5 inches depending what area you fish on. Good clear ice. Fishing was spotty in about 15 feet of water and the fish were right on the bottom.

In a couple hours I caught 12, a friend caught 6 and my brother in law only got one, but it was a 22 inch hog of a brown trout. Hopefully the picture will load from my phone.

There are some nice Browns in there but they are rarely caught-- Lucky Sucker!

A few years ago we would slam the Splake .Did they disappear?

Last year I was skunked twice at Causey I haven't tried it this year yet

Nice report and decent brown, sure don't see many like that coming out of causey. Now if the kokes will show up[Wink]. How were the edges getting on and off the ice?

Nice brown. I know There's a couple big fish in there that don't ever get caught. Gotta love causey... sometimes you wonder if There's even fish in there. Lol. I'm heading there this weekend for round 3. Hopefully I don't get skunked. Definitely would be nice to pull a koke up. I pulled a few up last season on the ice. Hopefully I run into some this weekend.

There is 6 - 18 inches of slushy water you have to step across to get on the ice. But the ice is solid from the slush on. Not sure if the ring of water is cause the lake is coming up?

We didn't even try for kokes, just fished shallow water for trout.

It could be the water coming up but likely it was a combination of both that and all the snow on top of the ice. With those few days of warm weather before this storm hit it must have warmed the rocks up and started to melt that ice that was close to them, imo but who knows[:/].
