First trip ever to Echo and it didn't disappoint. On the water at 7:45 off at 11:30 with limit of trout and 11 perch. Nice to get out of the smog for a few hours and catch a few. Attached pic of average trout and perch...

A few details now that I have a minute. Fished in 31' - perch on the bottom and trout only about 4- 6' under the ice. Everything caught on a glow gazilla w/ orange head. It worked great at Starvation last week so stuck with it again. Also got to use the new jawjacker for the first time. Used it on the trout pole and it worked well until I got water on the trigger mechanism; then it was useless as it froze up and wouldn't operate anymore. Slimers for the smoker and perchies for the cast iron[].

I was by myself. Checked with dad and bros and everyone was busy. Sometimes it's nice to get out on your own anyway. I know Tlarson was supposed to be there somewhere but I didn't run into his crew.

By myself pulling a sled and with my limited knowledge of the area, my only real access was at the ramp. From there I went northwest and got away from everybody. I'm a believer in fishing being better away from noise and crowds on the ice. The guy way out in the middle away from everyone is usually me[]. Guestimation from end of boat ramp was 300 out and 300 towards the dam if that makes sense. Good luck...
