Hit Starvation( Rabbit Gulch) with a friend @ 0800 this AM. Temp. 5 deg. Got the stuff outta my truck, couldn't find the damn bait. Called wife. Bait still in fridge @ home. That's the braindead part. Hit it anyway & ran into two really nice young fellows and a very pretty girl that gave us a couple crawlers. We were fishing east of the campground and all the way to the point on the south side. Tried 30 to 50+ ft. Had one slime rocket hit right off the bat but it was too dumb to hang on. We tried four different places on our way to the point with no further encouragement and finally bagged it at noon.
Bought some "millworms" at 7/11 in Heber and went to the rock. Skunked there too. Beautiful day in clean air but now I gotta get that stink offa me. Ennybuddy got sujjestion?

That doesnt sound to encouraging on Rockport. Was thinking of hitting that again in the morning. How deep were you fishing at the rock?

We were about 250 -300 yd. almost straight out from the boat ramp. Had one bite about 15' down. Water was a smidge under 50' where we set up.
Two places kicked my butt today & it's kinda sore if you know what I mean. AND, GITTIN' OLD SUX!!!

Tom,
Glad ya got out. How did the shoulder hold up drilling holes? Sorry ya smell like skunk. Thought ya would at least tangle with one of those fat trout at starvy. Still need to get out with ya before the ice goes away this year. Fishin is still better than TV

[#0000FF]Sorry I wasn't able to join you guys. At least you would have had some bait...worms and processed perch pieces. I usually bring plenty because I am accustomed to fishing buddies showing up without bait, tackle or whatever.
Not sorry I didn't go. In addition to still nursing my dinged up shoulder I was coughing all day from a case of bronchitis...courtesy of our temperature inversion and dirty air. Not anxious for it to become something worse.
Let's try again in a week or so. Couldn't be any worse.
