I am going to hit the hard deck at the "View" on Saturday. I have fished it many times bu mostly getting small Perch and early morning crappie. Any idea what woudl be the best area for bigger perch? What are the sizesof the perch? Typically crappie has been good very early morning before sun up. Any idea for the crappie as well?

Where you headin? I was thinking more out toward the point at Cemetary. Or perhaps the other side of the parking lot. I have never fished there.

I know nothing about crappie through the ice, but the best cure I've used and/or seen for small perch is drilling a LOT of holes and trying a lot of spots. If you pull a 7" perch up a hole, leave immediately, and drill another hole 60 yards away.

In my limited experience, it seems if I'm getting bored waiting for my tiny jigs to get to the bottom, I MIGHT find bigger perch. It also seems that I will probably pull 3-4 nine inches up from 50' down, and that hole won't give me another fish, so I'll move 20' sideways and drill another hole that might have some of the same school around.

Walk all the way off the end of Cemetery Point, clear to the west and a couple hundred yards out, the point runs out onto a flat in about 50' of depth. Some success in the past out there.

im headed there sunday to get some perch for some chowder and maybe a few slabs, so if you go report on how you do, i still cant decide where to go, id like to stay away from the main dinkcatching crowd cause i think i might have better succes on larger fish, but if all else fails i need to get a few atleast for dinner. 2 years ago i had great succes in 60 feet of water between brownings and cemetary.

Im thinking of going to hte south side of CP, Down on the flats, if nothing there I will head to the narrows. far walk but oh well, I will punch holes and check as I go though. There will be 3 of us out there, with 2 tents. It is looking like it will be a great weekend.

Sounds good. It will be myself and another buddy. I am in a blue Clam tent. I will try the south end of CP as well. Off to the right of the parking lot I presume? Come and introduce yourself if you see me and I will do the same.

Is the south end of the left side of the parking lot or the right? I plan on being there about 6:30 am.
