So thanks to many helpful BTF'ers (particularly TD for the detailed instructions), I needed to acquire some trout to experiment with a bequeathed Little Chief smoker.

With a little extra lunch time, Tibblefork was too tempting to pass up.

I caught a total of 11 trout in 90 mins starting at 11AM -- seven in the first 30 mins before I started tinkering with lures.

Tibblefork is 60% open water and the south bank (where I like to fish with my casting weapons) was a bit of a hike through snow drifts.

But for the first thirty minutes it was some fast fishing and some fun fighting fish.

I caught two browns and nine rainbows. The bows were 12-14" (mostly on the smaller side of that range). The browns were both 12".

For those interested in Ice fishing up there, I personally would not set foot on the ice there. But some by the dam closer to the north shore might be suitable still.

But for open water casting, it's pretty quick and easy fishing up there -- once the hike is out of the way

I brought three bows home for the smoker. In the future I'd say these will probably be too small to be worth the effort (and normally I don't keep trout under 15").

But in this case I was able to bring some fish home in a pinch to start my smoking hobby with!
