With calls from some relatives in Idaho and chatting with several members from a couple fishing sites telling me I better head North and get in on some good perch jerk'n while the ice lasts, I headed North across the border Thurs afternoon. I had already registered to fish a tourney in Wy. on Sat. but my cousin told me that the ice may not last another week if the temps stay in the upper 40's and lower 50's. I had to go for the big perch. The trip paid off as I fished a day and 1/2 and brought 60 nice perch home. I don't think I caught a perch under 10 inches with most running 11-12 inches. I had several that darn near made the 13 in. mark. I have included a picture of some of the ones I caught Friday. I fished by myself Friday and my cousin from Boise joined me Sat. with a couple of his friends. They have been fishing them for several weeks and doing very well.[fishin]

I didn't attend the derby at Sulpher Creek as I decided to head to Idaho while the ice was still good, it is a heck of alot warmer up there around Mt. Home than here.

Man that place will spoil you as far as big perch go, it was darn near as good as the old days at Yuba for the hog perch. It was a fun trip and beautifull weather. I would like to make another trip up but unless the weather turns colder there I'm afraid the ice may get bad fairly quick.[fishin]

[#502800]Good perchies ........ Did anyone catch any big Crappies?[/#502800]
[#502800]I know they are in the big pool below the damn, so there must be some big ones in the reservoir.[/#502800]
[#502800]I've been thinking maybe spending some bucks for a non-resident Idaho license ....... I've about had a gut-full of filleting those pint sized perch.[/#502800]
