If I can't fish at the moment, I might as well be thinking about it! Besides, what else am I going to do if an appointment doesn't show up??? Paperwork, or read BFT. BFT all the way!

I was wondering something. I never log in or out of BFT anymore, and I guess that info(that I am logged in) is saved in a cookie on my machine. So in that case does it always look like to other BFT users that I am active on the site? Or does the site show only those that really do have a browser open and are viewing a page?

If site does not track open pages then it may appear that I am active when I really have my computer turned off. (At least that is what I will tell the boss, Wink, Wink)

Matador, it actually is timed, so it doesn't matter whether you leave your browser open or not. If you come to BFT, then leave your computer on all night long with the browser open to that webpage, then you still will not appear as being online after about 15 minutes. Then "Who's Online" section says that x number of users have accessed the board in the last 15 minutes. So it's not anything to worry about.

Okay, sounds logical. But you said, "If you come to BFT". What does it mean to "come to BFT"? Is that simply hitting any BFT page? Does the cookie get read at that time to get my login info?

Yes, that's correct. Any BFT forum page will access your cookie and log you in if you are not already logged in (i.e. if you've been away for more than 15 minutes). I imagine if you hit a BFT page that has nothing to do with the forum than maybe it won't, but any forum page, or any page dealing with your account, such as the Who' Online, or your profile it will access your cookie.

[cool]I work at home a lot, and I have a poster that says:

"WORK IS FOR PEOPLE WHO DON'T KNOW HOW TO FISH"

My own personal philosophy is that WORK is the single greatest interuption of a person's recreation (fishing) schedule. It's kinda like the old theory that marriage is the leading cause of divorce.
