Decent close to my icefishing at CJ
#1
Went out Friday and Sunday both of which were insanely windy. Ended up fishing the boat slips at cottonwood both days just to get some lines wet and get off the couch. No perch but I did catch more than my share of trout including a tagged fish and a few nice gills. Not an ideal end to CJ ice season but I will take it. I will be heading up to NoDak to take the youngin out after some hard water eyes and pike this weekend. Hopefully CJ will be thawed by then. See yall out on the boats. Bring on the Crappie!

Last day at Strike for us today too. Didn't risk it at Cottonwood so we went over to the narrows and got on using the dock. The roads in really sucked, but the fishing was good. Open water at the mouth of the narrows, first bass tourny 9th of next month. The noise and the cracking is not for the faint hearted, however it is still nine inches thick. I wondered what they were catching in the slips. Stopped and checked out the ramp at the bridge, maybe next week we'll go boating.

lol that ice cracking was wild. I figured they must of opened up an extra turbine and dropped the res a cm or so. Sounded like a freight train coming. We had cracks go through our setup and ice was actually flying in the air. My buddy freaked and gave up fishing. Took icing a few fish and a couple of hours before he came back out. We were between you guys and cottonwood.

Dan let me know when the bite gets good up there, I'll try and make a trip up for a weekend with my boat and see if we can catch a few before you have to head across the pond. I think you still have my phone number if not shoot me a PM. Thanks for the info this winter, greatly appreciated. Have a safe trip back to ND and good luck on the "EYES".[fishin]
