Had another great day on big blue. I caught 6 and snapped off a nice one as well. I caught the Big Macs suspended halfway up and all the cuts and the 5 pound laker on the bottom go figure. It was totally opposite the last time. The two bigger lakers were 9 and 10. I started the day with the same offering as last time. At ten thirty all I had was five lookers and not a single hit. I finally changed over to something different and hooked every good mark after that. Would have gone seven for seven but I'm a rook. The first fish I saw after changing up schooled me. I was on the phone giving the pops an update when I saw a mark streaking for my shallower rod. When I grabbed the Pole I noticed the line was tangled like halfway down the rod. I grabbed the line to untangle it about the same time the fish pasted me hook. I set the hook hard hand line style. No stretch braid/big Mac hand line??? What the hell was I thinking. There was zero give. The braid cut me pretty bad and it snapped my knot at the leader attachment. I was sick. There were four other fishermen in my group and none of them even hooked up. Better lucky than good.

Nice report. You are the Man!

Thanks for sharing! Straight Up! Gonna have to change your name to "Sir Bigfishjon" . After, the huge Macs you catch.

We never get over the fishing fever, its a delightful disease and thank the Lord there is no cure!

Dude, you are the man, it is rare to have a repeat like your first trip up there, too bad about the lined cutting you though. If I have one trip out of four up there where I catch even one decent fish, I consider that good. How were the edges when you were getting off the ice?

Edges looked a little dicey in places but we picked a dry looking spot and got the four wheeler on and off with no problem. I'm hoping to hit the hard deck one last time next Saturday before I go into full walleye frenzy.
