Deer Creek
#1
Having never fished Deer Creek, I would like to try it, it sounds like I can get a pontoon boat on it now with the ice coming off. Any tips for fishing Deer Creek this time of year.I know that it has trout, and I would guess that I would go after them same as I do Strawberry at ice off, buggers, leeches ,etc. Any thoughts on Deer Creek ?

Ice fishing sucks but there is a little small portion of the lake being open that's by the middle provo river. I would toss woolly buggers or crawdad patters if your fly fishing.

I would say fishing on the river would be better then on the lake till the lakes is just ice free.

Most of your usual open water tactics will work as the fish move into the open water and becomemore active.
