Is the fishing good at UL good at ice off? I am hoping to get my boys into a bunch of fish sometime soon. They are at the age where they are into quantity not quality so dinks are ok. thanks in advance.

Maybe it's just me but Ive never had a lot of luck with Utah lake in March.
Their were fisherman out on the South dike and river of Provo Boat Harbor yesterday (3-9-13) and they wouldn't be there just enjoying the 40 mile an hour winds. so try it.

The White Bass fishing at UL picks up in May-June. Once the water temp rises they become more active, and when I say active I mean every cast gets a fish. No need to worry about getting quantity.
Find any tributary to the lake and fish it with smaller jigs/spins and you will slay em'!
The Whities are in poor condition this time of year. Beginning of June they put their weight back on and will give your boys a hay-day.

If you want some fast action with ice off go to a boat harbor and put a small #8 ratfinki or something the same size tipped with some meat and drop it in the water. I like to fish with a lead-head bobber. You can twitch your bait ever so slightly to give your lure a nice movement. When the fish hit it, the bobber will let you know.
Send me a PM and I will tell you the exact boat dock you can catch em' all day.
