Went to Hyrum today. Did okay but it was a pretty slow day. Tried up by the swim beach first but due to the lack of bites my buddy and I moved up by the inlet. We ended up icing 7 between the two of us. There is still more than a foot of ice but because of the sunlight the slush on top started to get really soft and we kept breaking through it. The edges are still solid so that is not a worry

How deep was the slush on top when you break through? I sort of hate that time of year when you start to drop through and just hope there is still ice under you to stop your swim.... How was the crowds? Lots of people still fishing over there? How big were your fish? Are there any of the larger class fish still left 13 to 15"? Thanks J

J the slush was only about 1-2 inches there was hardly anyone out there we saw less than 10 people the whole day and that was scattered across the whole lake. The first 2 I landed were under 6 inches but all the rest were over 12 with 2 of them pushing close to 14

Hey thanks for the great news all around. I probably won't make it back this year on the ice, but its good to know there are some of the bigger fish still around for a spring boat trip. Thanks for the info. J
