Ice fishing ENd
#1
went to starvation yesterday with a few friends to rap up the ice season. Ice was soft getting on and needed a plank to stay dry.
found some perch and a few small eyes and 1 or 2 trout. fished in 39 FOW with lindy bugs and rat finkees.
I think ice might be getting done there cause coming off we all practicly broke through to our knees atleast. wet but it was great weather out there, and maybe a little too warm for ice fishing[:p].
BRing on the soft water.

How big were the eyes? Thanks for the report and pics.
TopH20, Wyoguy, hookngrinin and I were there yesterday but fished over by Indian bay. We did not have any problem getting off the ice a little after 2pm but the catching was slow. TopH20 and his friend stayed later than the rest of us but when we left I don't think the total perch count was over 12 with 4 or 5 trout thrown in for good measure. Maybe Mike will tell me that they slayed them after we left but the wind was such a problem, I'm not sure if they did any better, if the wind did not quit[:/].

I think it's time to put my ice fishing gear away as well, I can hear the turkey over in that area calling my name already, only a few weeks away. I may have to head back up to C.J. for a 2nd round of big perch, only this time with the old boat in tow.[fishin]

It really didn't pick up much in the afternoon. We stayed until 6:00 p.m. and we got some more perch but the total was only about 20 for the party. Ice was still OK getting off and we didn't need the plank.
I might head over this afternoon for one more try before bagging it for this season.

Congrats on the eyes, sounds like you were seeing a lot more of the perch than we were.
