Best Jordan River Trip So Far!!!
#1
Yesterday I decided to snag a fishing lunatic and that was very easy to do. We end up going to one of my spots on the Jordan river too discover more around the area. In the first pool the RAT aka random angler theory aka fishing lunatic told me that he catch less fish with using half of a worm but use the bottom one and you would have less luck then using the head side of the worm if you spit it in half. Just moment seconds later he cooked a big carp. That was a great timing to tell a theory [crazy]

Just a few minutes later I slammed into a nice big carp then while fishing FL was trying to figure out some more random angler theory I end up hitting a nice 24.5" sucker because suckers just love me [laugh]. When that area slowed down we just decide to discover new parts of the river.

When I saw some fish jumping in one straight section of the river FL told me that this spot wasn't going to be good. His theory was fishing on a straight part of a river wouldn't be great fish. Well his theory was wrong again tossed it out moment later I had some nice hard hit for once but couldn't get it set right. End up hitting the fish then missing it and it got scared over to FL and his theory caught him his 19" sucker. While the he thought the theory was just a miss happened this time. My rod was going crazy hit and missed. After all those misses I was going nuts. After the perfect timing just slammed it hard. Reeling this big huge fish I thought it was another sucker until the big walleye spikes rose up above the water. It end up too be a nice 21.5" walleye.

Tossed that big pig back for another day because I had no clue how many were in that area. Tossed my bait back in and caught another sucker but got unhooked Sadly right next to me but that was the end of the great day.

With knowing walleye are in spawning mode it looked like from it's huge belly it time to find some more and slam them on a fly rod.

More JR adventure coming soon. [Wink][Tongue][cool][angelic][laugh][fishon]

I'm assuming you were using worms, but by your name I'm wondering if you got that walleye on a dry fly?

Nice walleye FFL, good on you for tossing it back too. I don't know if that fish would have been so lucky if I had run into it.

Thanks for sharing[Wink]

I'm so freaking jealous I'll won't have to wear any green on st. Patty's. Its halfway through march and I haven't caught a walleye in 2013. Something is very wrong in the world.

Going to take my toon and tube of death on utah lake for more walleye and kitties and some other good fishes. Might find the perch condo again ha ha ha.

I enjoy reading about how stupid the people you fish with are and how their theories and suggestions are just plain folly. Seriously, it makes me happy. FFL, sometimes I really just want to give you a box of chocolates and tell you that you're my pal.

I trust you do know it's PIE day - the 3.14 - blah blah blah - day. we had cream, chocolate and apple. Go figure!

Kudo's on some spring river fish. Been playing that game a bit myself, and the waters flow, the pools abound! Finding that slack water, or seam. . . fun stuff.

I went after Crappie this afternoon, but ended with some bass-attacks, what can I say - tugs is tugs!

Spring is in the air, and the waters!

Honestly, if your theories and suggestions differ from FFL's, I don't know why I'd even bother. As for the chocolate, you have a stack of IOU's that I've given you over the last two years. Time to pay up if you ask me.

(my subtle way of saying, "Please invite me on one of your 'toon trips o' fury and I'll bring you a bag of Hershey's)

What's your problem? Why are you always bashing on anything FFL posts? What did we do that was stupid? Some1 doesn't pull a wall eye out of the jordan river every day so obviously he did something right What did I do that was so stupid since I went with him?
