First Large Mouth of the season
#1
I had to get up and take a quick evening trip to Deer Creek for a few casts today.

I ended up landing my first Large Mouth of the season up there. It was a fun catch. I could see it following my lure in coming down the shore. One quick jig and WHAM! Fish On!

It wasn't a monster, but it was great to pick one up on the soft water already!

Deer Creek is still mostly ice but it is rapidly disappearing and there is a lot of open water around the shorelines.

Thanks for the report. I am anxious to get out on the water there at DC to chase the largemouth.

Sweet thanks for the bassy info. Lets hope next weekend weather doesn't ruin the fun trip. I'm so excited to find some big bass on my fly rod there this year. I just hope it wont be another cruddy bass season like last year for me.

That bass could have landed you $25 wavefishing.com gift certificate. A BFT sticker or sign with 'WAVE' wrote on it. Check the contest board or the bass fishing board.

Nice job! Didn't think they would bite when it's at that elevation and at ice out lol. I need to go up there and land my 47th lmb of the season just for the fun of it haha. Walleyes will keep me distracted for the next 3 weeks though.
