Hello. I just purchased a crawdad trap and I would like to go get some to eat and use for bait for the catfish. Does anyone know of anywhere in northern Utah that has a good population of them? I have seen them on the bear river in Corrine but I don't know if they have any on the section that runs through Cache County. Thanks, Chris

I'm not real sure about far north but I know east canyon has an abundance of them. My favorite place is strawberry but that's out for awhile. Those traps are a lot of fun! Good luck!

I do not know where with a trap. Hell I bought one a year and a half ago took it out over 15 times and never had one come in. I tried all of the hotspots besides the Berry.

I'd second Hyrum for northbound - Willard too. But they do reside in Cutler/ Bear. Heard tell Catfood cans with some puncture holes do well to attract to a trap.
I need to try some more!

Canals, huh?
Never even would've thought of that. You get any decent numbers out of those areas?

Depends on the year but some times I could walk away with a quarder buck full in a hour some times you can find a big bush and you tie fishing line to backon to line and throw it in the bushs and wait for a little gig and then just pull it in slowly they are all over in them little cheeks that don't dry up

East Canyon right by the damn or by the boating docks.
Pineview by the damn.
Lost Creek pretty much any rocky spot.
Bear River in any slack water or slough
Willard any rocky point.
