I was wondering how things are up at Steinaker. I'm going to be out at Starvation for a few days in about two weeks and was thinking of hitting up Steinaker. Hit it with the kids a few times last year in late spring and early summer and had a blast with the Bluegills in the shallows.
We wouldn't be heading out for about two weeks but are trying to get a plan together. We don't have a boat so we are shore-bound.

Went by yesterday. Top end is opening up some. I would think in another week it will be either wide open or mostly open especially with the afternoon winds we've been having lately.

yes, coming down from the top it appeared to be mostly ice with the very back bay opening up, that was coming back from the gorge

Went down to the State Park and it's a little bit behind Steinaker with some open cracks and rotton looking ice. Couldn't see the whole large bay SE of the ramp but it appeared to have some open water.
