Deer Creek Saturday 3-30-13
#1
Headed to Deer Creek on Saturday to take the family out and get the boat wet and try out some new electronics and target some slimers.

Left my house in Riverton about 12:30 made a couple stops along the way to feed the army we had going. My buddy and his family and his boat were an hour ahead of me. arived at the lake. A litte breezy but pretty darn nice.

Launched my boat with the wife in the driver seat and went and parked the truck. Can back to jump in the boat and she throws her arms in the air and said the engine die and it won't start. My Brother-inlaw was going for the paddle and instead used the Bad A Minekota Trolling motor to motor to the dock and I jumped in. I put the shifter in neutral all the way down and started right up. That sure pissed off the wife.

Started to mator out past the bouyies and Turn of the new Hummingbird Sonor/Gps with the map program loaded and holy cow this thing if fricken AWESOME. playing with the sonor a bit and the motor dies again. My motor has never missed a beat. Had it in powell in January and it ran perfect. When I was done I winterized it. So I am thinking it just needs to be ran hard a bit. Well I give her the gas and the thing is lugging kinda spitting wont even come up on plain and I am think what the hell. Then a light bulb came on and I but the bilge pump on and it shot a stream of water out (which my boat never leaks a drop). Ding Ding Ding we have a winner. At this point I realized it is importnant to put the 5 Freeze plugs back on the engine. So after 5 minutes or so of Draining the water out of the boat and screwing the 5 plugs back in we were off.

Headed over to my buddy and he said he was cathing a few shallow. I put up the rod holders and Bombed out some rapalas and it was 2 minutes and caught the first slimer of the year in the boat. All in all we ended up with 5 or 6 fish. All 12inchers and one that is probally16 or 17 ish.

Went by my buddies boat and save his wife from the serious fisher man and she jumped aboard my baot and the ladies had a cocktail party in the front of my boat. well the adults did my daughter is only 12.

Great day left the water and headed home bout 6.

Cheers
