Sturgeon help
#1
I live down by Preston. I am wondering how far down the snake you need to go to get into some sturgeon. I have fished for them in Washington, now I'm back in gods country I really miss fishing for them. I'm not wanting secret holes or places just wanting to catch something. Pm if you want. Might heading towards twin Falls Friday and Saturday if any one wants to show me and my wife around. thanks in advance troy

Well I'm sure most people on here are going to respond with the same answer! Bank fishing is limited to just a few places until you get below Bliss Dam and then there are several kind of in a row! From Twin to Bliss there are a few but they probably don't produce as many and as big of fish as down below Bliss! Yes there are some big fish between as well! Below Lower Salmon Falls Power plant from both sides of the river can be good! There are a few holes below Buhl that are accessible from land as well!

Do you have gear?

Weather permitting, I would be happy to take you out in Gertrude for a few hours to Pillar Falls which is below the Perrine Bridge in Twin Falls, I could show what gear you need, baits, holes, ETC. West Addison in Twin or The Avid Sportsman in Buhl have everything you need if you need to buy gear. Bring a map you can write on and take notes. Since my wife claimed Gertrude as her own, I only have till 2 when she gets off work, then we're going down river. . . . . Dale Smile

PS: There are pics and videos of IdahoRon in this hole.

The fish behind American Falls are getting 6 foot plus, they are all up and down the river when they shut off the gates and canals at minadoka this year there were 3 in there from 4 to 6 foot. We use to fish eagle rock qute a bit and always seen people there fishing for them but most concentrate within 2 or 3 blocks right behind A/f dam
