I really want to fish Sand Hollow, but if I have to keep Sparky on a leash in the camp grounds, no way! !![mad][mad]
I'm a tuber an can't fish with Sparky on a leash, obviously. Is there an area to park and set up a tent trailer and not have to put up with this bias stuff??? [mad]

I'm not sure of the regulations on Sand Hollow. However, I have a dog and I like to fish with my dog BUT ONLY when it is in my boat or when I am fishing a stream on private land. I do not fish with my dog along public streams where it might encounter other anglers since I know that many people don't want dogs splashing around in the water (lake or stream) while they are tying to fish (me included). I find that very rude. I know you take your dog fishing and I'm glad you do it on leased areas on the Weber R so others aren't upset with you and your dog. I also appreciate you asking about Sand Hollow and I'm glad you are responsible enough to keep your dog away from the public and/or anglers. Dogs are great company to their owners, but a pain in the butt to everyone else. I definitely respect other anglers who don't want to contend with my dog when they are fishing so I leave her at home or in the back shell of my truck at cooler times of the year with the windows open.

If you are asking about their campground, the main one is nice. I believe there is another on the south side of the lake as well called sandpit. Here is a map of the park I got from them when I was down there a week ago.

I never made it over to the south end of the lake, I was only there a couple of hours. So not sure what they would do down there.

Well, for me this is very disappointing.[mad][mad][mad] It's forcing me to spend more and more time up N. in S.E. Idaho where they are more liberall. All I have left is Mantua and the Pine. and even there, there are more and more restrictions. For the life of me, I can't understand the problem of having your best buddy with you while fishing with all the more serious environmental stuff that exists, not to mention all the wildlife poop that nature produces at these locations.

I'd camp just east of Sand Hollow on BLM land ( I think it's BLM but dogs are fine) if you want to take a dog along. Leave the dog at camp or on a wire leash attached to the vehicle at the Park.
Lake Powell has plenty of side canyons that are great for small craft and tubes you can camp in. My dogs get plenty of exercise even if I have to put them on a wire leash occasional to leave the vicinity a bit to fish.

there are a ton of places you can drive right up to the waters edge down in the bay. throw a tent and let the pup run wild. use google maps and zoom in on bull frog bay.
