Headed to deer creek with my dad and grandpa yesterday morning we walked down the far side of wallsberg bay and started to fish with lures and bait next to us there was a very loud group of men and there children who non of which spoke very much English.
We were catching the bows and having a lot of fun even with all the craziness next door but then we cought a fish and in its mouth was about 3 kernels of corn then we look to our right and the group next to us was throwing out handfuls of corn like crazy and they were catching fish like crazy and how they were fishing they shouldn't have been catching very much!
This just really is not cool! And I am only 16 and we didn't want to report them with there little kids right there with them.
Anyone else seeing this around? I hate it

Calling the fish cops would have been the right thing to do. Maybe the kids would learn the correct lesson. They're going to fish, they need to learn the rules. All of them.

It's never good to belittle parents in front of their kids... However that's a lesson that should've been taught to that whole family - don't violate the law. You guys should have called. They would have most likely just been issued tickets and those children (if old enough) would always think twice before using corn again. I was fishing just above Deer Creek yesterday. DNR and Sherriffs everywhere. I thought maybe they were looking for someone, but they weren't looking very hard if that was the case. Figures there's 3 DNR trucks in a parking area talking to each other while someone around the corner is in direct violation of the law.
I don't mean to talk down on law enforcement or DNR, but it seems the officers that I've encountered are almost always serving their own agenda first and caring about their jobs second. I'm sure there's some good ones out there, but damn.

And yes I've seen people doing the same thing, but not successfully and not for a while.

Hey I understand and I'm not condemning you for the lack of action. It's just frustrating to think about what they were doing and much less frustrating to think about what you guys could have done.

At DC I was checked for a license and the other 10 people standing near me fishing on the beach were not even asked for theirs. Come on just me! My hair was spiked but come on!
Most the lakes I go to the DNR guys seem like they are more of a parking enforcer than fish and game enforcer. Willard and Utah Lake are the worst IMO. I wish they would get out of the truck more and cruise the beaches.

You should have called. It would have been a good lesson learned for all including the kids.
