Cleveland, Huntington Ice???
#1
Has anyone been up Fairview canyon lately, and possibly have an update on ice conditions at Cleveland and/or Mammoth (Huntington)?

We fished Cleveland again on Saturday for the second week in a row. No open water on either Cleveland or Huntington. A few spots are getting soft right next to shore but we got on and off fine. No slush on top and had to drill through about 30" of ice and frozen slush, but it is getting a little soft now. Fishing was steady but not fast for 14" to 19" rainbow, no cutthroat this time. Three trips ago the best color was white. The last trip the tiger colored jigs out did the white and the best bait was chub meat. Those fish are super fat and healthy, bellies full of little bugs we call rock crawlers.

I drove up Sunday afternoon. Cleveland had some soft spots around the edges but still totally frozen. Huntington was also solid as well as Electric (at least the south end that I could see). It got well below freezing last night down here in Castle Valley, and tonight is supposed to be cold as well. It might be awhile before we can hit open water up there.
