Strawberry 4-25-2013

The crowds finally figured out that ice off is in full motion at Strawberry. You can get to Renegade now with a 2 wheel drive truck or a 4 wheel drive chevy. Indian Creek has opened up quite a bit and around Renegade has several areas to fish. We caught a lot of fish in the early morning.

A little after 10 it slowed down so we went from the Strawberry side over to Soldier Creek. There is a lot of open water on that side with easy access and little to no walking.

We went through several packs of minnows and did pretty good for awhile.

If you have never fished ice off at Strawberry and would like to try I suggest you going up there in the next few days.

It looks like there is still a lot of ice on the lake. Shore fishing looks good, is there enough open water to launch and fish from a boat?

There was a Pontoon boat floating around Indian Creek yesterday. I wouldn't recommend anything bigger than that. Strawberry Bay has about 2 acres of open water. The ice was coming off pretty quick though. With the warm weather this weekend it should come off a lot quicker.
