Hit the water at 1800 hoping that all the heavy watercraft would be off the water. It was a mad house getting the boat in with everyone trying to pull out. went to freeway bay and started out trolling cranks, first walleye came after 30 min of pulling and changing colors twice. We swung back through same area and on the same mark netted another walleye. The walleye stopped biting about 1930 and the wiper action was on fire, had two double hook ups and a triple. we decided to go hit the island to try our luck for more walleye and that was a good call. My son out fished us by a long shot, he would be letting his line out the back of the boat and wham another fish on, he did this 3 times in a row 2 walleyes and a wiper I didn't even get my bait in the water from the last fish he got. hot bait, RC2 in sexy shad color. Biggest walleye 3# Wiper 4.4# 20+ wiper caught and 6 walleyes. we left at 2130 bugs carried us away.
Good luck and tight lines.

Nice walleye , my biggest went 19" . My best walleye day ever was yesterday with 16 total caught and 40 plus wipers . I was getting off the water about 3pm and it was a traffic jam at the south marina .

The walleye fishing has been pretty good to us out there the last couple trips. I would be nice to get the N. Marina opened to take some pressure off the S. Marina. We came off the water about 1:30 yesterday and it was getting pretty busy. I'm just curious about the parking area on the launch ramp side, is that for handicapped and SR. citizens or can anyone use it for parking? The bite is turning on at Starvation for the eyes, when are you guys headed back down? By the way looks like you had a good trip on the Bay last eve, congrats, always good to have the young' uns put a hurting on ya with the fishing. My grandson, who hadn't fished walleye with me for a few years, showed me up bad yesterday on the walleye, I know he was loving it. [fishin]

There is a sign posted on the lot by the ramp saying it is for handicapped and seniors only. The rest of us should be making the walk to the lower lot. I noticed lots of people ignore the sign though, and open spots on the ramp lot are usually the first to go.
Nice catch there Javelin. Wish I could have been out there yesterday. Most of the rest of the week looks windy [:/].

The sign says disabled and Sr. Citizens, haven't seen to many decals on vehicles for the parking or tickets by the police.
Probably wont get back to starvy till the fall but I know I am going to try any chance I get. I have a full plate of tournaments and trips planed for the year.
good luck

The way I read it the bottom spots next to the docks are for senior and disabled. The rest are open. They took down the signs at the top. I don't have a senior pass in my truck but usually have a senior launching me. How do you prove it?

Park Rangers at Willard Bay are like most of the Fish Cops in that area, oblivious to the most common infractions, they need to take a page out of the book that the Officers around Starvation use. God Bless those guys.[cool]

I do agree, the Handicap and Senior Citizen area should be for just that or you need to be ticketed for disrespect/lack of judgement. Nothing pisses me off more than some punk parking in a Handicap slot because his/her ass is LAZY.

i figgered you was bean fisheetous you cheesehead!
Only time I ever parked there was a weekday off season with a sprained ankle. Didn't have any stickers, but I were purdy disabled. Nobody seemed to complain. I think there were three other boats out that round.
"Glad" to know things have picked up. But sounds like warm water has brought on a good fish bite! Nice.
Now of course the rule at the loading dock is the biggest most expensive boat has the right of way, right - and anyone else should have the humble respect to wait for the rich and not-needy to go first, no?
Sorry - just venting. I've had rare occasions to visit the launches with a line, and honestly - glad for it. But have had a few encounters that set the tone.
That parking lot ain't that far, and you only gotta send one down to get there. If I have to be paranoid that in 5 mins time someones gonna swipe my rod or stringer, well - I'm not in Utah anymore!

Were you running cranks on the island? I've never done that, always used bottom bouncers. Seems like you would be snagging up a lot with cranks, were you using planner boards with them.
Looks like you have one heck of good fishing partner there, I'm jealous. I have to boys and can't get neither one of them to go fish with me, treasure the good times with him cause they grow-up fast.
Thanks

Picked the big wiper up and one walleye right on top of the island with a crank everything else came on the outskirts of the island. If I try to go without him he gets very mad. he has been fishing with me since he was a year and a half. We are hitting it again tonight with some good luck a few more walleyes.
