Walleye
#1
I just got back to Utah yesterday, after a year and a half in Texas. Can anyone suggest a good place to catch some walleye this time of year. I was wondering if anyone has caught any walleye at Starvation or Deer Creek lately. I purchased my fishing license today and I am ready to go hit the Utah waters.

I read the post about the pike fishing in Yuba and noted that one walleye was caught. I was hoping that the walleye fishing at Yuba would have improved while I was out the State.

Willard seems to be producing some eyes.

I have yet to catch a walleye out of Deer Creek yet this year. These low water levels are screwing everything up.

[#0000FF]Welcome back sir. Kent and I were just codgertatin' that you should be wandering back in town soon. Welcome back.

Deer Creek has been dropping fast and the water temps are still a bit low...due to a long cold spring. Haven't had any good reports. An occasional fish or two but nothing consistent.

Willard has produced some good catches for some and frustration for others. Right place, right time, right offerings...maybe.

Even Starvation has been slow to get started. Some decent catches on days when the wind has not been blowing and those in the know could fish the good spots.

Yes, Yuba has been producing a few more walleye, in amongst the big toothy critters. Still a major carp problem. But DWR is exploring the potential for actually stocking some walleyes and perch to try to build up those fisheries again.

Hope your stay in Texas was productive and satisfying. Now let's go do some more fishing.

Thanks for the update! I should have known that you would be able to provide the information I needed. Looking forward to doing some fishing together again. I guess that you have created a considerable number of new fishing lures in a year and a half. Do you have some pictures of your new creations?

[#0000FF]Of course. You know me. Always messin' with something new.

Sending you a PDF file on some of the new creations I have been making and using with "wobble jigs".

Do we need to get you into a remedial course on fishing? This is a fishing pole. Am I going too fast?

How was the fishing at the Strawberry this past year? You have probably mastered the art of jigging by now. I will probably need some training this year if I am to make friends with the fish there.

Have those who manage the Strawberry waters come to recognize the federal fee regulations regarding the Golden Eagle pass yet?
