Actually I was saying, "hey little kid, want a brownie". 
 
And to FG. I did consider releasing him, but the family wanted dinner, and I had to show off the catch to a few folks who keep saying they want to fish with me, but never get around to it. 
 
In the future....they are going back.

Nope it is ok to do what you want with the fish once you catch it. Although I still encourage contestants to release their catch and a proper realease would be ideal. 
That brown trout was eaten within hours of being caught. It feed 4 people that night! Yummy "river steaks" as my step dad calls them.
