Grandson 17 wants me to take him to a small wilderness stream with small bookies for some fly fishing fun. Thinking about something fairly close to home in Midway. I think some of the streams off the Kamas Hwy might have bookies or even the Strawberry below the dam.
Anyone have any suggestions? I'm too old for the hike back to Naturalist Basin. Appreciate any ideas you might have.

I just caught and released about 40 small brookies 5-12 inches in the stream below Mill Hollow Reservoir last week by using a bead head nymph. Caught the fish in a couple of hours. Fast and furious for these little guys. I just wrote a blog about this trip for DWR yesterday, so you might not be alone!

Lost Creek (Mirror Lake Highway) has a lot of small brookies. I caught maybe 50+ just walking along the creek from the highway to Lost Reservoir. Elk hairs and Adams (Regular, Hi Vos and Irresistible).

Upper Provo along Mirror Lake highway would be perfect for that.
