Family friendly fishing help
#1
Hey folks-

I'm an Idaho transplant that has moved down to Bountiful to attend school at the U. I was visiting with one of my neighbors in my apartment complex and her son has never been fishing before. I'm not familiar at all with the water in Davis county, but I was curious if any of you knew of a place I could take him where we'd be sure to catch something. In doing some research, it looks like there's a pond in west of Bountiful and one near the canyon in Farmington. I fly fish primarily, but I may be able to get my hands on a spin rod from a neighbor if you think it would be better. Any help you might be able to offer would be greatly appreciated. We're wanting to head out for a few hours Saturday morning before it gets too too hot.

Feel free to PM me if you'd prefer.

Thanks!

Either Bountiful Lake (west of Bountiful) or Farmington Pond (mouth of Farmington canyon) are good if you happen to time it right right after they are planted. Bountiful Lake also has some small pan fish, bass and carp that are always present.

The Jordan River is also a possibility (not very accessible in Davis County, but SLC area is close by).
