UT to ID boat Question
#1
Question 1:
Taking a Utah registered boat to Idaho, what do I need to do or be aware of?

Question 2:
Totally seperate from question 1, what about boating/fishing the Idaho side of Bear Lake? Recipricol stamp? UT mussel cert OK? Etc?

Can't answer from experience, but I do know that there's a mandatory boat inspection site at the rest stop on I-95 just before you get to Malad.

I think I'd carry some sort of proof of ownership and your UT mussel certificate if you have one. Might not help, but certainly won't hurt.

If you are taking your boat through Idaho, as mentioned you have a mandatory stop just before Malad. Utah certificate means nothing to them. They will ask you questions such as last time it saw water and what water. Then one will examine the boat.

As far as Bear Lake, I am sure it is like Flaming Gorge. You go on the out of state side, you need "THEIR" invasive species sticker or whatever Wyoming has.
Invasive sticker is $20. and can be bought on line for a couple bucks.
I am not sure why the stations that sell the Licenses, don't have the stickers too.

Some of the links you need for questions and where to buy are in this post:

http://www.bigfishtackle.com/cgi-bin/gfo...ost=827853

From the regulations:
Bear Lake between Idaho and Utah: The holder of a valid Idaho or Utah fishing license may fish all of Bear Lake except in areas closed to all fishing by the respective states. Anglers are subject to the rules and regulations of the state in which
they are fishing.

From the invasive sticker FAQ
Q. If I launch my boat outside of Idaho do I need to have a sticker on my boat?
A . If your boat is launched in Washington, Oregon, or another state, and thereafter enters Idaho waters, you are not required to have the sticker. Stickers are only required on boats that launch in Idaho waters.

If you pass an inspection point, you need to stop.
