smiths fork china meadows
#1
Does anyone know how to catch grayling out of the smiths fork in that section. Also, the little tiny pond right next to china meadows, how do you catch kokanee out of there, i have a neigbors who catches 30 inch kokaneee out of there.

I would try renegades for the grayling. For the kokes maybe a spinner or jig...

Ya, I guess. I haven't caught anything out of there, but my neighbor has, he also says they are about 5-6 pounds. [fishon]

I would love to see a 5 pound koke out of there! Got any pictures to prove it?

No, but I will ask my neighbor next time he comes out of that area. He has showed me a couple pictures before. He said they were the small ones. They were about 18- 21 inches. And a good picture guess, 2-3 pounds. The good thing, is the dwr doesn't put spawning restrictions on 'em, so you can catch them when they are bright red and have a good hook.

I'd triple check that one.

A 30" koke would weigh very close to 10lbs. Strange your friend has no pics of the 30" fish but plenty of the smaller ones. I mean no disrespect, I just think this is a typical exaggeration scenario. There are no 30" kokes in Utah!
