Best free place for catfish

I am looking to take my son catfishing either thursday morning or Friday night. Just wondering where would a grood free place be to take an 18 month curious youngin? I have some experience with both Utah Lake and Willard but Both areas I usually fished have been closed. Any Ideas? We would be shore fishing if that helps narrow down the areas.

Check the UDWR urban fishery stocking schedule. I'm betting they have been stocking some channel cats somewhere.

Lincoln Beach is a possibility. Be sure to take the bug spray wherever you go.

I was going to say Lincoln Beach too or Pelican at UL. Stocked at Willow Park Pond here in Murray. Or you can just find a spot anywhere on the Jordan River!

Find your nearest community pond. That's exactly what they're created for: taking kids out for a fun outing. Most have fishing docks, are stocked often, and are free.
