Hi guys! Haven't been on in a while.. have a new little one that gets all my attention ; ) So finally get a little me time and want to head up to pineview, I know its low just like everywhere else but how's it affecting the fishing? Never caught a muskie and would love to hook up with one.. or 2 or 3.. ; ) any advice/tips out there for muskie or pineview? Would be greatly appreciated. Can pm me if ya want. Thanks guys!! [fishon]

Try some crappie imitations or perch. Anywhere there is cover or a place to ambush prey, like the steps by the cemetary point or on points in the rocks. I have caught a few from shore and out of my float tube in those types of areas.

big baits catch big fish...its true. I had one on the last time I went and it almost took the rod out of my hands, it ended up snapping my 15 lb test so I never landed it. Top water is a good bet in the morning

for topwater, get a big zara spook. as for others, try burning a big bucktail, they've seen every sorta bait by now and they are use to the same old retrieve, so definitely mix it up, sometimes that really fast burn retrieve will set them in to go mode.

I haven't fish there this year but last year I found more fish out away from the shore around brush that's close to deeper water. try a all black buzz bait for top water, no special action needed, just cast and retrieve.

I fished Perch up at Newton for years. I haven't made it up there this year so I'm not sure on water levels but I never had a problem catching Tiger Muskie. Huge Muskie stalking the banks. I had to run steel leaders just to fish for Perch!

We have been fishing pineview a half a dozen times in june and july and have caught 2-3 Musky per outing, with a few 40"+ and believe it or not near all of them have come on a 2" Shasta Flee Bity put in close to shore. Get there early to beat the fun boaters.

Thanks guys! Definitely been doin my research and lovin the advice! Well be stopping at Cabelas on the way up to add a few things to our arsenal ; ) heading up Wednesday, until then... keep it comin : ) what lb test/type of line you all use?..

Thanks for the help everyone! That was our first time targeting a tiger and we caught one! ; ) (beginners luck?) Lol.. hope not. Did my research on handling, he made it back safely into the water to be caught another day. You guys weren't kidding about the boaters! It gets crazy up there. We were out there by 6am thank goodness. Having issues uploading the pic from my phone but I'll keep trying. Nothing big and fancy, but a tiger muskie all the same. Well be trying again in a few weeks. Oh and caught him off an ac plug! Thanks again guys. (Yuba Friday, any pointers?) ; )
