I-80 Pond Report
#1
I went to the I-80 pond on labor day, and caught absolute zero fish. I through everything at them from dropshots, to frogs, to flukes, to senko's, to spinnerbaits. Literally emptied my tackle box on the place.

Found out from a local at stansbury where I went to fish next they had their ponds freeze way to deep and killed almost everything. I'm 100% convinced everything is dead there. I saw no baitfish surfacing or anything.

Just throwing this out there, so know one wastes there time. If you have any other insights on the place let me know. Thanks!

Phragmites wiped out the bass is my theory. Used to love it out there! I fished it this spring with the same results as you. No bass, bluegill, nothing. Didn't even see any carp.

I went out last summer. Same results. I can't place blame but there were no fish. No bites, no misses, no carp, no bluegill sunset action...pretty Sad I must say.

[right]Well John, if you didn't get bit, I can safely say, it's fishless. I'm not the bassmaster you are!

Back when I worked at Kennecott I helped to plant fish from KCC tailings ponds out and where the water runs under the tracks to the ponds you are talking about..

From the tracks out was about the only places that the fish would live, the ponds was high in heavy metals and for many years it was NO FISHING or trespassing the singes was ripped down and not replaced..

KCC may have killed off the fish so people would not keep fishing it or eating the fish..
