Just giving you Cache Valley Boys a heads up... Sportsman's Warehouse opened today... Pretty good selection, not quite as good as the big ones, but sure beats everyone else in the valley... Found some nice jigs I need to take for a swim... Later J

Cool, I'll have to take a look after work tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up, I was thinking it would be Monday.

They sure had a lot of help in there today I wish I would have had time to really look around, but I will someday soon... Have fun and don't spend too much... My wife had my credit card so I got out of there for the $10 in my wallet... That place is bad news for my budget that's for sure... I noticed they have the good heavy bottom bouncers and lots of good walleye riggins that I've been trying to find... Anyway catch ya later... J

I'll have to give it a good look tomorrow. I'll have to fight to be good. I really want to see if they have any of the new Storm Arashi Shad squarebill cranks. I want to bang those off the rocks up at Oneida and see what the smallies think.

I've never tried those before, I'm finding there a lot of good lures I've never tried before and it's just a matter of figuring out how to fish something new that can really help the take home numbers... For some reason I've never figured out how to fish Rapala's.... Everyone tells me how good they are and I've bought way too many and I can't remember ever catching a fish on one... Obviously I don't know how to fish them... I find I do better on cheap lures but I guess that's what I fish because I'm not afraid to lose them... Well, the fishing area at the Logan Sportsman is only about half of the Riverdale one so it doesn't have everything, but hopefully they have what you want... Later J

Well, if nothing else it will be a good place to pick up some basics if I need things quickly. I mostly shop ebay because the deals are so good.

I really love hardbaits. The past couple of years I've found myself fishing them more and more, and many days I never even pick up plastics. Rapalas used to be my expensive lures, and then I tried a Lucky Craft. That was the end of it, I've been hooked on Japanese baits ever since. It's a bad habit though, so you're probably better off avoiding them [Smile]

I've found that with hardbaits, fishing them fast and erratically does the trick, at least when the water is warm and the fish are active.

Had someone, don't remember who now, teach me a different way to fish plastics and now I'm in love with it on Cutler.. But I love hardbaits on Willard... Guess I know I'm going to lose lures on Cutler so I only fish cheap stuff there... But I know you're 100% on the mark that it is how you fish the lure that makes it work... If you just drag them you're not going to catch much... Anyway have fun at the new store... Catch ya later... J

Cutler and The Bear are really snaggy. If I fish there, I probably won't throw any of my expensive baits. I really do need to give it a try after work one of these nights when I don't have the time to head north. I just wish there were more access points.

I went to Sportsman's Warehouse today. Definitely a lot smaller selection of bass stuff than the Ogden store. I still managed to spend $150 though. I decided my old fish finder had seen better days, so I replaced it. Also found a nice squarebill for $3 in the bargain bin and was enticed by the beautiful colors of Roboworms. Time to dropshot some smallies!

Yup I ended up back in there again today as well. Cost me another $50+ today and I only got a few jigs and new line for my mono reel. Great selection of what I was looking for. Hope it's what the fish like too. Catch ya later J

They have always been more concerned about other things and never really focused on hunting and fishing like Sportsmans does... It will be nice to have someone that focuses on the good stuff... won't make much difference with my shopping, I've been driving to Riverdale or ordering on line through Cabela's for years so the only business Al's is losing from me will be bait... they lost my business years ago when they had to charge top dollar for everything...
