Are you going to be fishing from a boat? Quail can be tough to fish from the shore. What species are you going after? If bass I would say you definitely want a boat so you can cover some water. If you want to catch trout I have done well on the northwest side. You can park off the road and walk down the steep bank. The area I'm talking about is a ways past the state park entrance. I have done well with lures, worms and power bait there.

Shore, and ill be camping overnight. I would love bass but anything works. How is the bottom? Moss? And is it possible to wade out or worth it? Ill probably be focusing onjigs at first, do you know, or heard of a good color to use?

There are a lot of rocky points and structure. I doubt you'll find much moss there. You can wade for sure but a lot of the best bass spots are hard to reach from the areas you can park. My favorite colors are watermelon and motor oil for plastics. Crawdad and lizard plastics are good too.

You get a lot of snags from the shore. I used to fish by the dam on the south end but the water is much lower now. If you had a float tube, I would say go east by the rocks across from the boat dock. I did well there back in March. I fish for trout. Harrisburg Cove is also popular. That lake can be brutal at times. I have a love/hate relationship with that lake. But where else can you go boating in the winter?
