Heading to Lake Powell over UEA. A big thanks to Gov. Herbert for saving my family vacation. I have never fished powell. Any tips or advice would be great. I have four boys that would love to do some fishing and a little catching would be good too. Thanks in advance for any tips/info.

If all else fails you can always catch some catfish. Pretty much anything will work to catch them. I like using shrimp. Most of them are pretty small, but hey, it's better than nothing.

just seems like Utah had to pay a federal ransom to reopen our own land. this thing is really got me pissed off and no gurantee that they will repay that 1.6 million dollars. As San Juan county pointed out they are spending more money keeping these Nparks closed than if they would have been open not to mention the economic impact to the area. what a country!!

Lake powell update. The water was around 64-67 degrees and smooth as glass. Air temp was highs of around the same and lows in the upper 40's. Had zero success catching but had a blast with the kids exploring the canyons and the beautiful scenery. Ran into some other guys fishing and they said they had very little luck as well.
