Well, I got a job offer that is too good to pass up, and so I'm bound for the desert wastes of STG. Can you guys help dispel my fears and tell me that there is good fishing down there...? Rivers? Streams? I know Sand Hollow and Powell are close, which is bad ass, but...
Help me feel safe, I beg.

Talk to Riverdog. He fishes down there a lot.
From what I can see you will be in easy reach of a lot of good waters. A few hours drive and you should be able to hit everywhere from Fish Lake down. Plus you won't be freezing your tail off all winter. .....just frying it all summer!![laugh] [cool]

Here are a few that are moderately close trout fisheries Duck Creek Pond, Aspen Mirror Lake, Navajo Lake, Panguitch Lake. Panguitch Creek, Asay Creek, and the upper Sevier River and Enterprise reservoir. Not to mention urban ponds and the lakes like sand hollow, lake powell, gunlock and quail. Carp in lake mead are crazy if you like that.

Zion NP actually has some trout in many of it's streams as well. Not large numbers but they can be found. Do a search on it and you'll get some ideas where to try if you're interested.

Just don't forget to buy the sunscreen by February. Small tradeoff for all that snow shoveling you used to do up north..
