Nice fish/report! I was out there Thursday and Friday but had the fish biting so soft I probably missed more than I caught. Friday was all dinks though so it's always good to see that someone is getting the big ones and that they haven't all been caught yet. [Wink]

Thanks all...

I would imagine the next time the lake has a few good, consecutive ice making days it will ice over.

There WAS quite a bit of skim ice a week ago.

Yesterday with the storm on the lake there wasn't any ice anywhere.

Surface water temp was 37 degrees -- actually a little warmer than my last trip but my last trip it was really calm and actually colder air temp.

We dressed warm for the day and I actually shed a couple layers early.

My buddy sent me a picture of the cabin area by the lake.... this is the OTHER reason to go fishing in the Utah mountains:

I took a bunch of pictures of his "just under the slot" Cutty's... I'll post them up as well when he sends them to me. LOTS of healthy fish in that lake.

My money is that the Cutts and Tigers do get that lake back under control in the next few years.

Loving the girth on tha bad boy. I agree that lake will be brought under control by the larger predators, and will produce some major trophies in the next few years.

The hat was a gift so I don't know where it came from. I've seen hats like it a number of places however.

I caught the trophy of the day. But here's a sampling of 3 other "photo worthy" catches from last Saturday that James brought in:

WOW...It is really good to see fish of that size coming out of there. They weren't that size before the chub problem.

Chub problem?

It seems not to be a problem. (?)

There were LOTS of Rainbows that size, before the chub problem.

Thanks. That was enough to remind me what I learned at the RAC meeting. The chubs and rainbow compete for the same food source while the cutthroat eat the chubs.

I'm wanting to try out a ten foot casting net on chubs. I wonder what is their schooling nature and how easy it would be to get to them while schooling.

After they get big enough. But until then, they are also competing with the chubs.

I don't remember a time when I could go on four fishing trips to Scofield and catch rainbows of 25", 26" and 27" with an additional 15-ish over 20".

When was that?
