Weather looks awesome, 42 degrees for the high and wind is almost non-existent.
Anybody fished it last weekend that cares to share their results?
Anybody headed there this weekend?
If weather is as good as forecast let's go!!!

Fished it this afternoon for about 40 minutes, from shore, and two of us caught and released 3 nice "steelies" and missed a couple others. Fished tubes tipped with worms in about 20' of water. Fish seemed to be scattered in the column. Some other guys trolled past us and had fish on too. Calm, cloudy and 24 degrees and the only ice was in our rod guides. Wish we'd had more time before dark.

No idea since we didn't fish near any. It was definately cold enough for some slippery ramps though.

Ok!
We will leave here at 6am and should get to the State Park about 8.
I am hoping for a few eyes and a couple big perch and I will be happy.

2 boats, 4 guys. Fished in heavy fog from about 8:45 till 2:30 or 3 ish.
Total boated was: 9 eyes, 11 big perch, 1 jumbo perch, a 20" Brown, and 5 or 6 very colorful bows.
Thanks to Art, Gary, and Rowdy for joining me. I had a blast.

Sounds like you guys got a nice little grab-bag assortment of fish there. It's always more of an adventure when you're not entirely sure what you're going to catch next! Were any of the fish in close to shore at all? Been thinking about heading up that way myself.

Nice report Shane, was there any size to the eyes? How were you guys fishing, jigging, bottom bouncing, casting?

Shane, we found 2 more 'eyes in the live well, so 11 'eyes. It was too cold to take many pictures but I did get a pic. of the dudes who were crowding Rowdy and I. We also had a good time thanks for inviting us. We got a couple pics of the Brown before we released him.

Yes Shane and Art, thank you for the invite..I would have never thought to go if it wasn't for your invite. The biggest eye was almost 18 in when I taped it at the house. Had a hreat time!!

All fish caught from boats but there were a few shore fisherman around.
Eyes and perch caught on jigs. Our trout caught on KCT pink spinner and maggots.
Gary and Rowdy out-fished us. It was actually a trip that I blame the I-Pilot. I chose to use Spot Lock as we jigged and that must have been our mistake. Gary and Rowdy did not use Spot Lock and just moved around in about a 30 or 40 yard zone around us. I kept believing it was colors of jigs or jigging techniques but we tried the exact same rigs as they did. The ONLY difference between the two boats was Spot Lock vs. not using Spot Lock. Hind sight is 20/20 but I'm afraid due to temps this weekend I will not get revenge on Starvation eyes until next year. Bummer.

Yes, trolling the KCT gear at 1.6 mph.
Gary and Rowdy just barely moved around with the electric. A tiny breeze would come up and just gently move them around. They are dang good fisherman and just took care of business!
I had it in my mind that holding with Spot Lock was the way to go but now I regret not moving more.
