I know there's a search function, but I guess I wanted an overall report/overview. I have an Orvis T3 that I busted this morning. Ice built up in the guides, and I wasn't paying attention when I was trying to set the hook on a 8" hatchery rainbow. Boom. Snapped the tip (that's what she said).
Anyways, the Anglers Store in Boise off Overland has always been outstanding. They took the rod and will send it back to Orvis for me. Does anybody have any experience dealing with Orvis and their warranties? I thought I saw a post a while ago about someone praising the Orvis warranty.
I guess I'm just looking for a way to calm my nerves... haha!
Thanks!

I have one of the first T3's with the titanium guides and such, they later put less expensive hardware and dropped the price like 2 to 3 hundred.
I broke the tip of mine this year. Sent it back to Orvis myself for like $20. Six weeks later (and again, this was during the summer so busier time) I got the rod back looking good as new.
Orvis is fantastic. IF the rod was bought after 2003, you will be charged $30. from Orvis. If the store is an Orvis dealer, then you probably saved yourself the shipping.
They said they have a fair supply of T3 parts at the first of the summer so, you will probably get a repair.
Just plan on 6 weeks from Orvis and however long the store has to ship it. Then if you get it in say 4 weeks, you will be all happy and praising ....LOL

Awesome! Thank you for the reply! I love that rod and have no interest in any replacement rod, so I'm glad to hear they had supplies when you sent yours back.

I sent a T3 with a snapped tip (I slipped and fell on it in the stream) to Orvis under warranty 3-4 years ago. It was a 3 wt 7 ft 10 inch rod I think. Unfortunately they replaced it with a 8' 4' 4 wt as they didn't have any replacements for mine. Probable depends on what they have on hand. It might be worth letting Orvis know to contact you if they don't have an exact match. I didn't find out until I got my rod back. That short 3 wt was sweet- it landed me many trout in the mid 20's in tight canyon fishing.
