Rockport 12/12/13
#1
I hit Rockport for the first time today on hard water. Ice was 5 inches solid and clear. Well actually is was 4 3/4 acording to my tape measure.

First stop was in 23 FOW. No action there so I decided to try for some perchies. That was the next stop. 39 FOW is where I found them. They were hitting a buckshot jig with a night crawler at first. I caught the first one then switched over to the eyes. Action wasnt what I would call fast and furious but it was good enough. I managed to catch a 14 inch bow at 35 FOW while fishing for perch. Had another trout at 18 FOW in the perch hole but I didnt hook him very well.

I went back to shallow water and didnt catch anything else. Only saw one on the flasher at 8 FOW. It looked like the guys that were using my holes after I left were still pulling out the perch. I was only there from 9 am to about 145 pm.

All in all it was good day at the Rock and the total was 10 perch and 1 bow for the dinner table.
