E-lake 12-15-13
#1
Don PM'ed me yesterday and wanted to know when we could go ice fishing.. i said we can go tomorrow if ya like. so we got it set up a time and place.. decided on trying E-lake he said we could use his snowmobiles to get in and give it a try.. wow what a good call!!!!!! fishing was like really good today we got there about 8:30 and got everything loaded up and on our way the snow was deep the the snowmobiles were having a hard time getting through the deep snow.. but after a time we got on the ice and had to tinker with the auger got it going and some holes in the ice.. did not take long to start putting some fish on the ice.. i had the hot poles all day tube jig's tiped with redsides was all that was needed.. we fished in 25 of water did not need to move all day had fish coming through all hitting hard put lot's of tigers and cutt's on the ice today.. the average size was 16 inchs or so a good mix of both so it kept us busy all day catching.. in the afternoon it solwed down a little but still had fish coming through. all together we must have put around 60 or so fish on the ice today. seen one other guy who walked in and went past us with 2 dogs with him.. he was still out there when we went in.. i bet it was a cold walk back the sun was going down as we took off.. we took some fish for the smoker Don was going to do that and next time we will have some smoked fish... what a great day and great pepole to fish with! thanks Don lets do it again soon..

oh and one really wierd looking tiger it was really messed up.. lol check out the bottom pic..

Ron, did ya lose the beard? Nice fish, except for that freak tiger. Seen alot of jaw problems with those darn tiger trout over the years.
We need to get out again. It's been awhile bud!

yeah i know what you mean about E-lake... it's a big pain in the butt to get to this time of year.. but well worth the effert on most days.. and much better then weeding through all them little fish at scofield to get a bigger one every now that then.. and as far as fishing went i think it was just as good at E-lake yesterday as scofield was 4 days earlyer.. with a lot better fighting fish and bigger fish all day coming in..

we should get together some time and give some place a good try.. i'm game most anytime i'm home and not working and thats any time im home.. lol

well we parked on the north end, on the road to the boat ramp.. from there i would say the lake is close to a mile from there.. the lake is way down this year.. the thing with E-lake is on that end of the lake the snow drift's really bad on the side of the hill you'll be walking or even snowmobiling on.. there are times even Snowmobiles have a hard time getting in there.. not much easyer getting in on the south end ether closer by far not easyer tho.. it a cold walk accrost the dam and down a very step slop to get to the ice and again that is where the all the snow drifts .. there is a road on that end that you can take a snowmobile down too but again watch for very deep snow and step slops...
