Rockport had been confirmed it's 4-5" of ice and I'm pretty sure echo should be safe as well especially when the water level is like 5-8% full right now.

Walk down by the rock bank and fish in 20 -25 ft of water. That was the lucky ticket from last year.

I highly recommend these lures for ice fishing there. My buddy last year had a great time out there and fishing was amazing with them.

Was out the last two days. 4-5 inches of clear ice, with skiff of snow on top. Fished around the boat ramp. Walked about 400 yards south, then 400 yards beyond the ramp to the North. Ice did not vary in thickness. Slow for everyone I spoke with. Me as well, 2 bows wed, 1 bow today. Good Luck.

Fished Echo today down by the dam. Ice is 5-7 inches and clear and hard. Fishing was less than stellar. 3 8 inch bows. Not many on the finder and they were not active at all. Couple of other groups were skunked.

Good lucky finding them in the winter at the lake. I only have caught perch when it was 30% full out of there last year in the fall.

I made the long walk to the water this afternoon. I marked quite a few smaller fish in 23 feet of water. Most were showing up 8' below the hard deck. They were moving slowly and wouldn't hit anything I offered. Fished the bottom for perch and caught a jumbo 11" beauty on a white curly tail with pink head, tipped with 1/2 a nightcrawler. He stole the nightcrawler off my jig so I threw another on and lowered it down the hole. A nice 17" rainbow took it before I could get to the bottom (about 15' deep).
Those were the only two fish I caught. Tried waxies and meal worms but got no bites.
Fish finder kept showing perch on the bottom but they were done eating for the day.
Ice was a solid +5" with 1" of snow/slush on top.
Only saw 5 other people on the whole reservoir.

I edited my previous post to include a pic of the fish.

If you like your space while ice fishing, Echo has that in spades.

I knocked the perch dead at Echo last year - it was the best I'd seen it in a while, actually. FINDING them is the biggest problem. We'd hook into a school and it would be non-stop for about 20-30 minutes and then it would go DEAD for up to an hour until another school swam through.

Yeah echo was awesome last year for sure, but like you said its all location out there cause they are not staying in one area normally, last year on one trip i got 18 jumbos and a friend of mine that fished 10 feet away from me only got one.[crazy]
Going to give it a try here

I ended up hitting echo for about 2 hours yesterday afternoon .
Fishing was slow, 2 smaller bows and 1 brown.
Perch fishing was very slow with only about a half hour of action before dark.
Ice was a good 8 inches thick and the shore was just fine.
