I was pretty stoked to catch me a nice largemouth at Sand Hollow from the shore after work about a week ago, thus the shirt and tie in the photo. Thought I'd share the pic with everyone. I caught him on the damn. You can check out my blog post to read the full story on krakenbass.com
Always fun to catch. It was nice to get out of the snow for a minute.

Nice work my man. If you're hard up for a January bass, try poppers in the early morning and right at dusk. Had some killer success over the last few weeks.

Dang you guys are making me jealous. It's too cold for me to even bother with trout up here let alone bass.

JB,, Thanks for the after work report.
I have a Lake Powell questions for you.
I have a week to do what I want at the end of May.
I was thinking about taking my 15 foot Gregor {25 hsp} down to Powell for some "SOLO" fishing and shore camping. Is that too small of a boat for something like that?
Would I have missed the prime time for Bass at that time of year?
Where would be best to put in at?
I am about 3 hours from the South end of Powell.
You have me thinking Bass with that photo!
Thanks

Dude, seriously not cool. Christmas brought me some bass gear I can't wait to try out but can't because its frozen. Way to rub it in.[:p]
The weather looks nice down there. If the wd's get bad enough I might have to head south for a day. Thanks for the report JB, at least someone is catching bass.

I gave your spot a try yesterday for a few hours. I guess I just wasn't holding my mouth right, because I didn't get a sniff. I did, however, lose four jigs. That is a craggy area along the dam, damn.

I spent nearly 2 full days there in a row yesterday and the day before, and I did not get a sniff anywhere. I was in my boat and I was in 35 to 25 feet of water along the grass line all day, and I still didn't get a sniff. The guy I was with hooked two but never got them to the boat. Unless you are a pro, fishing is rough sauce at SH right now.
