Rockport 1/4/14
#1
Hello everyone. I am a day late on my report from Rockport but here it is anyway.

I hit the rock about 830 at the State Park side. I walked down the boat ramp and straight out to 38 FOW. Drilled a couple holes and within the first 5 minutes I was pulling perch out of the water. The ice was 13 inches. But it was REAL slick near the edges. Also the edges were soft but that was only for the first 3 or 4 feet. There were a few spots where it was solid at the edges.

The fishing was good for perch, Rainbows, and Brownies and then 11:30 hit and that was pretty much it. There was a straggler or 2 after that but if was pretty much done for me at 1.

The grand total of fish for the day was 22 Perch caught and 20 kept. Also caught were 2 Brownies and 4 rainbows. The rainbows were hanging out around 9 to 18 feet and the browns were showing up anywhere from the bottom to about 33 feet.

It was a good day out there despite the fact the ice looked like a refugee camp.

The Brown in the picture is 16 inches.
