I just purchased a power adapter for my ice auger to try and drill holes with my drill. My question is how do I keep my auger from cutting a 12" hole with my 8” auger? My drill is an older blue ( Mora I think). Can I somehow add a screw to keep the blades from walking?
Thanks!

Try new blades the blades with the notches in them. And maybe more down force?

My blades are brand new from Mora. Will those baldes work on a hand auger I thought they were only for the gas augers?

They may make it a lot harder to work by hand, but with drill adaptor they might be the fix your looking for. I switched to them for the same reason. I put the same auger on a gas engine.

How much was the gas engine? Or did you just have it around?

It was $179 @ Harbor Freight it was on sale. I had to cut the top off the bit it came with and weld it to my mora bit. This has caused some controversy on this site. It works great!

How do you deal with the rps isn't 3500 a bit much for an ice auger? Or did you put your own gearbox on it? With a converter to keep the power down.

It is a predator engine but it's a auger power head. Complete with gearbox and clutch 150 rpm at full throttle. 18 lbs.

Ok now I'm really interested! I love DIY.
A few more questions if you don't mind. If the motor is a 4-stroke how does it do being laid down wont it hurt the engine?
Where can I find the gearbox and clutch?

So I'll clarify it came with gearbox and clutch. All I did was cut the top off the earth auger bit and weld it to my ice auger bit and put gas in it(2 stroke mix 25/1).
I am careful when I set it down. The first time I laid it on its side the gas cap leaked. So I simply rotated it so the cap was up rite. And I carry a can of starting fluid for those cold days (it didn't like -11 F.) one spray and it jumps to life.

I should tell I had to make sure it's welded strait. You can imagine what it would do if it is not straight. And I will answer any other ?'s.
