Just curious if anyone have been going out on the Jordan River and catching any suckers? Heading too fish lake soon so I might drop by the river and catch some suckers.
Thanks for any info.

haha - you are what you eat - haha.
Just ribbin ya. I don't know anything about your JR suckers, but I did discover LR (Logan River) suckers spawning in mid-late spring last year. First encounter I've had with suckers up here.
And really - I was cutting catfish bait, and those firm white fillets just called out to me. I battered and deep fried some of the best fish-n-chips I've ever made. Sure - a few bony bits (Y you ask?) - but lawdy - some tasty flaky fish flesh right there.
PLUS - the catfish LOVED that cut bait bits. Fins, heads, and bones - they gulp it all.
Looking forward to chasing spring kitties again!

The infamous June Sucker was a staple of the early pioneers. They would catch them during their spawning run in the spring, salt them in barrels and ship to SLC where they sustained the people there. That was the purpose of the Madsen boat camp at the mouth of the Provo River.
In Missouri, the spring sucker run in southern Missouri is Dogwood Festival time. They are considered good eats !! So, our mountain suckers are in the same family !!
