[cool] My fishing buddy Dale(sealfish) came out for superbowl . We got to willow Friday afternoon, set camp and then launched our kayaks in . We paddled up river til dark, trolling all the way. We then did a slow drift back downriver in the dark. What a cool ride! No fish caught trolling a/c plugs, savage baits and bomber long A's. Got up sat. morning at 3:30am and headed back upriver to just below mm55. Still trolling and still no fish. But we were having a blast with the new attachments we put on the yaks earlier. Another drift downriver trolling and casting for no takers. Back at camp to tear down and leave at 12:30pm. No fish but made for setting up future trips. This was my first trip to willow in a kayak. Can't wait for another.

Sweet Yak!
James and I fished Willow on Thursday. We set out about 8 am and fished til 3pm or so. Fished up past MM60 and back down again. No fish anywhere it seemed. Threw the kitchen sink at em for nothing.
Gonna do a bass trip this weekend. Hoping the incoming cold-front doesn't screw everything up.

I was reading the AC Plugs forum this morning and Alan Cole wrote about the big stripers moving towards Cottonwood and south from there in winter. Additionally he thinks the stripers will move on the razorback suckers and small carp cause they got to eat.
I know from past years I don't fish much upstream of Aztec Wash in Winter. You might be able to launch from Nelson but not sure.
