just trying to think of the last time I saw anything on here About echo? anybody been out here recently? is the ice stil ok? I have been wanting to try a new place this year and it's pretty close to my house and I haven't fished it for a few years.. any info?

NO.....it's just a lot of work for a little result. The perch are there, I've seen them on my camera. Finding them, then coaxing them to bite is the problem. Having a means to travel the ice fast, a power auger, and a must, ELECTRONICS! Those kind of advantages will help a lot. Still..they gota be willing to bite.
It was real slow new years day and drilling multiple holes took its toll on my shoulders. We did manage a few and a trout.
Good luck, if you don't mind workin for them.

It's funny how some lakes are popular for a while, and then go on the unmentionable list.
Mantua in December is was the big ticket and now nary a mention. Now it's been replaced by Yuba, which is every 5 thread it seems.
Echo could be really good if you can find a perch on a feeding with abandon day. With the jumbo's in there, I wouldn't be surprised if there is nary a mention as tight lipped anglers laugh their way to the dinner table with plates full of perch and chips.
