Tagged fish
#1
Went up to Chesterfield the other week and caught four tagged rainbows. Called the number on the tags and reported them to Idaho fish and game. The next week I got a letter in the mail thanking me for reporting them. It also gave details about the fish like how big it was and when it was released and where. I guess some of them have rewards. I was wondering if Utah does anything like this?

The only place I know of in Utah that does that is Bear Lake. We have caught both Macks & Cutt's with tags. No money, but Scott will let you know when & how big they were when tagged.

Yes utah has done a lot of this in the past. They did it on rockport for a couple of years. Cabelas has tagged fish in some parts of utah, for its fish for millions contest. My father in-law caught a tagged cat fish in utah lake, that was part of the cabelas fish for millions contest. The Sad part was, is that it was caught a month after the contest ended. It seems like you hear more about these contests during the ice fishing season.

When I got on their site to check for winners (last year), there were a few that won. They were off of rainbows. I cant remember what they won off hand, but a few people from utah did win things.
